Personal records and other biographical material

Series includes personal and biographical material, including Blaser’s birth certificate, records related to his honorary Ph.D. from Simon Fraser University, Blaser’s high school diploma, records related to his health towards the end of his life, records from his employment at San Francisco State University, handwritten personal notes and book lists, a handwritten will, Blaser’s curriculum vitae, and yearbooks from his high school and college years.

Sub-series consists of slides of Blaser and friends as well as interior and exterior images of Blaser’s house on Trafalgar Street in Vancouver, B.C. Also includes slides that were utilized by Blaser in his teachings.


File includes obituaries of Blaser’s family members.

Collected publications

Sub-series consists of published books, chapbooks, broadsides, journals, and other published materials owned by Blaser. Many of the materials in this series were written by close friends and colleagues of Blaser and have inscriptions and signatures by the author.


File includes anthologies of poems from Colin [Browne?] to Blaser.

[Dislocations in Crystal – Michael Boughn]

File contains typescript of Michael Boughn’s Dislocations in Crystal, with notes and correspondence from Blaser to Boughn commenting on the manuscript. Blaser’s ‘blurb’ for the book also enclosed.

File consists of transcript from an interview with John Cage titled “Aerial 6/7.” A poem by Robert Duncan is also enclosed.
